Just this at first because it was and is such an awesome place….

I think if you miss to go to Coromandel when you visit NZ you have to come back at least for this piece of earth. What a beatiful place. These beaches are so unreal, boy. After two weeks spending there woofing in Hahei I decided to take a deeper lock at the job situation. I mean woofing is awesome but I just have to earn some money and want to be productiv at least from time to time so I was scanning almost every day the internet to find a job in or around Aukland and tada I got lucky. So no time to waste and gogo to Aukland . On the same evening we went to straight up just.


I just tell you by the way that we stopped due to the lack of gas.. that never happend to me before and it is a wired feeling when the engine failes but we got lucky again because a kind guy brought us to the next gas station and back, thanks Nelson !

Eventuelly we arrived in Aukland and my Job started on the next day. Luisa was still with me in hope to find a job as well. But she was not waiting for long because on my first day I asked our manager weather they need another person and bam Luisa was joining the grid the following day.
But just one word about Aukland itself. Everybody told me this is just a big shit hole, a place to avoid, a city full of unhappyness. It was not for me to be honest(maybe again cause of expectations). These huge buildings and especially the Skytower was pretty impressive.
Luckily at this time India was celebrating new year in Aukland so literally the whole city was on the street dancing singing and yelling. And after I got enough McBites which where in special offer this time at MCs I was soo fine with Aukland.


Some hours ago I decided to take the factory job instead of the job at the car rental company because they told me I definitely need a car and my plan was to sell my car as quickly as possible. At the factory job I was guranteed 40 hours and no car was neccessary.
But here is the rub. In my last 10 months I did many differnt jobs especially outside so I thought and accourding to what I was told that working in a factory must be like heaven. No working by piece and it was weaher independent compared to picking jobs… but to be honest.. it was not only good news…

I was working for a factory which produced and prepared paper for calenders, school books, notepads, mousepads and stuff like that. Every single cover was made by kids so that we can make a calender with a cover made my a kid from a particular school. And this school bought the final thing, comprende?;)

So it was simple like that. Take two calender cover… put them into this punching machine… and pull the lever down… and take another two covers… and pull the lever down and again pull down… for eight hours… it literally pulled me down…

But the atmosphere was really cool. All of them were backpacker and so we talked here and there.
So now I know working in a factory isn’t that cool and you will get nuts after a time !

Nachdem wir zwei Wochen in Hahei auf der Penensiula Coromandel waren und dort wunderschoene Natur und vorallem Traumstraende gesehen haben, hielt ich dennoch immer wieder Ausschau nach nem Job, um die letzten paar Wochen noch etwas zu arbeiten, da ich einfach nicht den ganzen Tag nichts machen kann. Ich muss einfach von Zeit zu Zeit produktiv sein.

Und so habe ich eines Tages eine Zusage von einen Factory Job und einer Car Rental Firma bekommen. Beide Jobs sollten sofort losgehen, also schnell dem super geilen Aushilfsmanager von unserem Hostel, wo wir gewooft haben, die Story erzaehlt und dann ging es am selben Abend los von Coromandel nach Aukland.
Das wir auf dem Weg nach Aukland abends stehen geblieben sind, da Isabell einfach kein Sprit mehr hatte, erwaehne ich nur mal so beilaeufig…

Mein erster Eindruck von Aukland war im Grunde genau der, denn ich mir selber vorgestellt habe. Grosse Stadt, viele kleine Bezirke und natuerlich auch viel Industrie.
Aber was ich von anderen so gehoert habe, von wegen haesslichste Stadt der Welt, ich weiss nicht. Wir hatten so einen schoenen Tag in der Stadt, wo Indien zufaellig auch noch Neujahr gefeiert hat, d.h. die ganze Stadt war am tanzen. Neben diesen beeinduckenden Hochhaeusern hat der Skytower natuerlich ueberragt. Und als dann sogar noch die Chicken McBites bei MCs im Angebot waren, war der Tag weltklasse.

Ich hatte mich kurz vorher fuer den Factory Job entschieden, da mir 40 Stunden pro Woche garantiert wurden und ich im Gegensatz zu der Car Rental Firma kein Auto brauchte, da ich das ja so schnell wie moglich verhoeckern wollte. Und Luisa ist ja quasi auch nur auf Gutglueck mitgekommen, was sich aber gelohnt hat, da ich ihr in der selben Fabrik zu einem Job am naechsten Tag verholfen konnte.
Aber hier kommt die Krux. Ich habe in den letzten 10 Monaten schon ein paar verschiedene Jobs gemacht und habe immer wieder gehoert und gedacht, dass ein Factory Job einfach Heaven ist, allein schon durch dir Wetterunabhaengigkeit im Vergleich zum picken und das man nicht nach Stueck oder Sack bezahlt wird.
Aber… um ehrlich zu sein…es war nicht alles gold…

Ich habe in einer Papierfabrik gearbeitet, die verschiedene Arten von Buechern und Kalendern herstellt. Die Kunden waren im allgemeinen Schulen von denen die Cover fuer diese Kalenerder und Buecher von Kindern der Schulen gemalt wurde(Comprende?;))

Ok also war meine Aufgabe die Herstellung von Notespads und Lochen von Kalendercovern, das sieht im Grunde so aus.
Nehme 2 Kalendercover… packe diese in die Lochermaschine… zieh den Hebel runter… ziehe die gelochten Cover raus… nehme zwei weitere Kalendercover… Hebel runterziehen… die naechsten Cover… und runterziehen… das Ganze 8 Stunden… das zieht einen echt runter.
Dafuer war das Arbeitsklima aber echt klasse, da der ganze Laden voller Backpacker war und man hin und wieder mal Schnacken konnte. Aber ich bin schon auf der Suche nach ner Alternative, bei dem Job wirst du echt Gaga… schaun wa mal.
